IIT Kharagpur launches MTech in AI & CPS-PRAYAS | Education News

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT KGP) has launched an MTech course in Artificial Intelligence (AI). This new course by IIT Kharagpur has been launched under the aegis of the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS), DST, Government of India.

This new MTech course curriculum in IIT Kharagpur is divided into four semesters. The first two semesters are dedicated to building a strong foundation through ten theory courses, of which four are mandatory. Students can choose six electives from the list of available courses offered by the Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and several other departments of IIT Kharagpur. The last two semesters are dedicated to project work and internships.

Course details

The MTech program offers Theory Courses in Foundations of Machine Learning; Algorithmic and Mathematical Foundations of Artificial Intelligence; Deep Learning Foundations and Applications; Artificial Intelligence Foundations and Applications along with Lab Courses in Machine Learning Laboratory; Data Engineering Laboratory and Deep Learning Laboratory.

New Leicester education center to provide opportunities for city’s young people | News

Young people in Leicester will have a greater chance of realizing their ambitions thanks to a new education center in the city.

Dame Maggie Aderin-Pocock, who herself overcame barriers during her school days to forge a successful career as a space scientist and broadcaster, was chosen to open the IntoUniversity Centre, in Beaumont Leys.

Leicester’s IntoUniversity center is a collaborative partnership between IntoUniversity, the University of Leicester and De Montfort University. The initiative has been funded thanks to a number of generous donors including the Randal Foundation, founded by Dr Nik and Moni Kotecha, and the Ian and Clare Mattioli Charitable Trust.

The center will provide young people access to after-school academic support, mentoring with university students and professionals, in-school aspiration-raising workshops and enrichment and work experience opportunities.

Dame Aderin-Pocock, who was the University of Leicester’s Chancellor and attended 13 different schools and had undiagnosed dyslexia as a child, cut the ribbon at the opening, before telling school pupils set to benefit from the center to aim high when it comes to education .
